We are recruiting experienced live-in carers for placements across Salisbury, Wilton, Amesbury and south Wiltshire. Two to four weeks on, two weeks off, with your own room and food provided.
One client at a time, properly known, with a local manager close enough to visit rather than a distant regional office.

Carers who move into live-in work tend to say the same thing about visiting care: there was never enough time. Thirty minutes to help someone wash, dress, eat and feel human, then out to the next call. Live-in work removes that pressure completely. You have the day. If breakfast takes an hour because a story is worth finishing, it takes an hour.
You will be supporting one person in their own home, which means you learn their preferences properly rather than reading them off a care plan. You notice the small changes early. You know which day the family rings, which programme they will not miss and how they like the kitchen left. That depth of familiarity is what makes live-in care work so well for people who might otherwise be facing a move into residential care.
It asks a lot of you in return. You are living in someone else's home, holding professional boundaries while being warm and present. It suits carers who are settled, self-sufficient and genuinely comfortable in their own company.

Live-in Carer

Living in a client's home and becoming a familiar, steady presence in their day: personal care, meals, housekeeping, appointments, company and the routines that make their life theirs. Previous live-in or substantial care experience is required for this role.
Waking Night Carer
Salisbury and Wilton
Waking nights, typically 10pm to 7am
£195 per night
Awake throughout the night providing active support for clients with more complex needs, assisting with personal care and repositioning and keeping careful notes. Suits carers who prefer nights and are comfortable working calmly on their own.
Overnight Sleep-in Carer
Salisbury and Amesbury
Sleep-in nights, 9pm to 7am
£135 per night
Sleeping in the client's home so someone is there if needed, usually assisting once or twice a night, with a short morning handover. A good route into overnight work if you are considering live-in care but not ready to commit to a full placement.
How a placement is arranged, from application to first day
After your application we have an informal conversation about the sort of household and level of need that suits you, and the sort of rota you want. We then talk you through a specific client: their situation, routine, personality, family and anything that might be demanding about the placement. Nothing is glossed over, because a placement that surprises you is a placement that ends early.
If it feels right on both sides, we arrange an introduction before the placement begins so the first day is not the first meeting. References and an enhanced DBS check are completed, then start and end dates and your break arrangements are confirmed in writing.
While you are in placement, you have scheduled check-ins, a named contact and out of hours support. If something changes in the household or the workload grows beyond what was agreed, we deal with it rather than expecting you to absorb it.
Live-in placements require an enhanced DBS check, references and the right to work in the UK.
We arrange and pay for the DBS. Please note we are not able to offer visa sponsorship at present, so applicants must already hold the right to work in the UK.

What does a live-in carer job in Salisbury involve day to day?
You live in the client's home and support them through their normal day: getting up and dressed, meals, medication prompting, housekeeping, shopping, appointments and company. It is one household, one routine, and a far slower pace than visiting care. You have agreed break time each day and undisturbed sleep at night in most placements.
Do I need experience for live-in care?
For live-in placements, yes. We ask for previous live-in experience or substantial hands-on care experience, because you are working independently in someone's home. If you are newer to care, our visiting or overnight roles are a good route in, and several of our live-in carers started that way.
What are the rotas and how much time off do I get?
Most placements run two to four weeks on followed by two weeks off, agreed in advance so you can plan around it. Some carers prefer longer placements with longer breaks. We are open to what works for you as long as it works for the client too.
Is accommodation and food provided?
Yes. You have your own room in the client's home and food is provided during your placement, which is why many live-in carers find their outgoings drop considerably while working.
How much do live-in carers earn?
£1,000 per week, with accommodation and food included during placement. Waking night work is paid at £195 per night and sleep-in nights at £135 per night if you would prefer overnight rather than live-in work.
Do I need to drive?
It helps, and for some placements it is essential where the client wants to get out to appointments or into Salisbury. Not every placement requires it, so tell us your situation and we will match accordingly.
