About Us

A different kind of home support, built around the people who need it most.

Home is where people feel most themselves

There is something quietly profound about a person's home. The familiar smell of it, the chair they always sit in, the view from the kitchen window and the small routines that make a day feel like their own. These things matter more than they are often given credit for, and they are worth protecting.

At Cathedral Home Healthcare, everything we do starts from one simple belief: that people are happiest, most comfortable and most confident when they are living independently in the home they love. Our role is to help them stay there, for as long as possible, in a way that feels natural and supportive rather than clinical or intrusive.

A calm, familiar home setting

Why Cathedral Home Healthcare exists

Cathedral Home Healthcare was founded because we saw a genuine gap. Not in care itself, but in the thinking behind it.

Too often, home support is designed around what is easiest to deliver rather than what genuinely helps a person live well. Visits that focus on tasks rather than the person, support that steps in to do things for people rather than helping them continue to do things for themselves, and an approach that, however well intentioned, can quietly chip away at the very independence it is meant to protect.

We wanted to build something different. A service where the starting point is always the individual, and where the question is not simply what does this person need us to do, but what does this person need in order to keep living the life they want to live.

We are an independence enabler, and that distinction sits at the heart of everything we do.

How we work

As needs change over time, we change with them. Support plans are reviewed regularly so that what we provide always reflects where someone is right now.

A proper, unhurried conversation

We begin by listening. Who you are, how you live, what matters to you and what kind of support would genuinely make life easier and more enjoyable.

A plan that fits around you

Your support plan is built around existing routines rather than disrupting them. Just the right amount of help, without ever doing more than is helpful or taking away what you can still do for yourself.

Carefully matched carers

We match each client with a carer who is right for them - not just in skills and experience, but in personality, interests and approach to life. Familiar faces build real trust.

What sets us apart

Small, local and invested

We are a small, dedicated team based in Salisbury. We are not a national franchise or a large agency - we are local people supporting local families.

Reachable and responsive

When you call us, you speak to someone who knows your family's situation. When something changes, we respond quickly and follow things through properly.

Connected to wider care

We work closely with GPs, healthcare professionals and community support networks so our support sits within the wider picture of a person's health and wellbeing.

Proactive in our approach

Our carers are trained to notice changes, communicate clearly and act when something needs attention, so small shifts are picked up early and families are kept informed.

A word to the families reading this

We know that reaching this page may not have been an easy journey. Deciding to look into support for a parent, a partner or someone else you love often comes after weeks or months of quietly worrying and trying to manage from a distance.

Whatever stage you are at, there is no pressure here. Some families come to us knowing exactly what they need. Others simply want to talk through what is happening at home and understand what options might exist. Both are completely understandable, and both are welcome.

Our role is to listen carefully before we suggest anything, to understand the full picture and to make sure that whatever support is put in place genuinely helps the person it is designed for.

What we stand for

Independence first

We are here to enable people to keep living the life they love, not to take it over. Every decision preserves a person's ability to live on their own terms.

Consistency and trust

Familiar faces matter more than people sometimes realise. We work hard to ensure the people we support see the same carers regularly.

Genuine personalisation

No two support plans look the same, because no two people are the same. We use the word bespoke carefully and we mean it every time.

Proactive support

We pay close attention, notice changes and communicate clearly and promptly, so families always feel informed and nothing important is left to drift.

Dignity in everything

Every visit, every interaction and every conversation is carried out with complete respect for the individual and the life they have built.
